Building Blocks is located in Centerville, one of the 7 villages of Barnstable on Cape Cod, Massachusetts.  The property encompass 3 acres with 3 playgrounds (Infant, Toddler & Preschool) and a field area for running, playing, water fun, picnics, and learning about nature. 

Teachers and Preschool students plant a vegetable garden each spring.  They water the plants and weed the garden.  When it is time to harvest, the preschool classrooms sample their homegrown goodies!    

The Center consists of 5 classrooms; 1 infant room, 2 toddler rooms and 2 preschool rooms.  In addition we have a full kitchen and an indoor play area for those rainy and snowy days.  We have various safety systems and procedures in place, including cameras scanning the parking lot, main and rear entrances.  The building is fully sprinklered. We conduct monthly fire drills with the C.O.M.M. Fire Department on site and alarm testing is done quarterly. 

 We are proud to offer over 30 years of child care experience.  All teachers are EEC certified and have a passion for early childhood education.  Our staff are certified annually in First Aid and Infant/Child CPR.  Each year, every staff person is required to attend at least 20 hours of professional training regarding early childhood education.

The daily schedule is based on consistency for your child and also allows flexibility for group activities, as well as individual attention.  We concentrate on promoting a healthy self-esteem as we nurture the whole child.  Our curriculum is literacy-based to enrich children's vocabulary and develop self-expression, while incorporating an appreciation for art and music.  Focusing on hands-on play and providing guidance to each child's individual needs will encourage and challenge his or her skills to their fullest potential.
